This epic adventure will take you from the culture and splendour of Cape Town, via the most southern point of the African Continent, to the mountain wilderness of the Cederberg.
Next up is the vastness of the semi-desert landscape of the Tankwa Karoo National Park, before slicing through the Swartberg mountains towards the 270 000 hectares of the rugged unspoilt Baviaanskloof with its numerous mountain passes and river crossings.
After all this exitement and off-road riding, we head down to SAâs surfboard mecca and the small town of Jeffereyâs Bay for a well deserved rest day.
Addo Elephant National Park is next. We visit the private concession of Kuzuko, before riding for the famous Transkei Wild Coast.
The Transkei section of the Wild Coast is rural South Africa at its best and the roads to the coast lead the visitor through the Xhosa heartland, a stunning landscape of rolling green hills dotted with thatched rondavels, offering interesting glimpses into a culture far removed from the stresses of modern life. We overnight in quint villages with their unspoiled coastline, sweeping bays, footprint-free beaches, lazy lagoons and rocky headlands.
Now into the highlands of Southern Africa - Ukhahlamba - âThe barrier of Spearsâ
We use the rolling foothills of the Drakensberg Mountain Range to circumnavigate the Highlands of the Kingdom of Lesotho, before finally arriving at Egoli - âThe place of Gold â
